The GE-Emerson IC200UAL005 VersaMax Micro Controller Processor adapts to the manufacturing environment of industrial facilities and promotes high levels of flexibility in the control hardware and software for increased precision and efficiency. Frequent program changes can be managed by hot-swapping the memory cards that come in the form of program Flash memory modules that are able to modify the user's control algorithm without turning the controller off. The processor is also scalable with up to four I/O expansion modules that can be stocked onto the original 64 I/O points.

The processor's built-in logic memory has a capacity of 9K words, with a data storage capacity up to 2K words. There are two built-in serial ports, one for the RS-232 protocol and another for the RS-485 protocol, and includes an Ethernet port that is compatible with the native VersaMax SE protocol.
