The GE-Emerson IC695CPU315 PACSystems Rx3i Controller CPU communicates with I/Os via a provided dual backplane. The module includes RS-232 and RS-485 serial communication ports. An Ethernet connection can be established using a rack-based Ethernet interface module. 

The CPU pairs with a programmer and HMI to provide control and monitoring of processes. A high-speed serial bus and PCI are provided by the integrated dual backplane. The CPU is compliant with PCI 2.2 standards. The CPU is compatible with most Series 90-30 modules, communication cards, and expansion racks. The CPU should be installed into the rack and the rack powered on before connecting a battery.
