The GE-Emerson IC200BEM002 Versamax PROFIBUS-DP Network Slave Module can read and write reference table data as though it were conventional bit- and word-type I/O data. Multiple modules may be used in the same Versamax PLC. The module can read up to 244 bytes of data from the network and send up to 244 bytes of output data. 

The network slave module (NSM) firmware resides in FLASH memory. This firmware may be upgraded with future versions via serial download from an appropriate PC connected to the serial port of the headend device.
