The Allen-Bradley 1756-OB16 ControlLogix Diagnostic DC Output Module can be installed on a ControlLogix chassis in any available slot, provided a 36-position removable terminal block housing (RTB) is present. The chassis and power supply must be installed and grounded before the installation of the RTB and module. 

The module allows for various configurations, including no-load detection, diagnostic latching, output verify detection, Program to Fault state transition, output state in Fault mode, and output state in Program mode. Standard features of the module include electronic fusing, point-level output states configuration, output data echo, and multiple output point densities. 

The module's short trip diagnostic function is 8 Amps for 180ms minimum, and 10 Amps for 120ms minimum. No-load detection is only provided for off-state detection, and output verification is only available for on-state detection. The pulse test includes a maximum pulse width that is user-configurable. Configuration of Fault states per point and state in Program mode per point, where 'Off' is set by default and 'On' and 'Hold Last State' are included as options, is also available.
