The GE-Emerson IC693MDL754 24VDC ESCP Output Module uses Electronic Short Circuit Protection technology that enables the user to protect the module from external short circuits without the need for external fuses. The ESCP detects a short and opens the circuit protecting the module. When the short in the field device or wiring is corrected the circuit self-heals. The module provides point-level diagnostics (not reported back to the CPU) and when there is a short the output LED will go amber for a visual indication.
