The Allen-Bradley 1756-EN2T ControlLogix Ethernet Communication Module functions as an EtherNet/IP (Ethernet Industrial Protocol) interface, and supports information exchange, real-time I/O messaging, and general messaging for applications such as Real-Time Control, Time Synchronization, and Motion. The module also allows simultaneous transfer of safety, control data, and diagnostics information, thus meeting CIP safety standards. Advanced communication chips and physical media are also used by the module. The module uses Twisted pair copper media, and additional features include a protected mode, electronic keying, device level ring network, and parallel redundancy protocol network support.
